Subgroups

Major focal areas within the broad scope of the Cycad Specialist Group have evolved into separate subgroups, often based on various action proposals outlined in the Cycad Action Plan . Below are brief overviews of the existing subgroups as well as links to the respective subgroup pages.

Cycad Population Database Subgroup

This subgroup focuses on developing a database for all cycad populations around the world. Tim Gregory is the subgroup leader. Click here to go to the Global Cycad Population Database page.

Ethno-ecology Subgroup

Ex-situ Conservation Subgroup

Insect Pollinator Subgroup

This subgroup focuses on research efforts involving cycad pollinators. It was created from an informal assemblage of entomologists and others with similar interests that have met regularly at various International Conferences on Cycad Biology. Invasive Pests Subgroup

Population Demography Subgroup

Red List Subgroup

Sustainable Use Nurseries Subgroup

Taxonomy & Classification Subgroup
