CSG Meetings & International Cycad Conferences

The cycad community has organised an international conference every three years since 1987, starting in Nice, France (1987), and followed by meetings in other places of interest to cycad enthusiasts. Click here to see a list of all of the meetings held to date.

The conferences have been held under the auspices of the IUCN/SSC Cycad Specialist Group and have been the main forum where CSG members have been able to meet. They have also been the venues for formal CSG meetings. The CSG has gradually taken over more responsibility for the conferences to provide continuity and to ensure that they focus on CSG needs.

The last international conference and CSG meeting were held in Panama City, Panama, in January 2008 under the leadership of CSG members Drs. Alberto Taylor and Dennis Stevenson.
